WIP Wednesday

Wednesday already?!  The weeks just fly by.  It is hard to imagine that Thanksgiving is just in a couple weeks and then Christmas is right around the corner.  Eek!

I do have a finish this week to share.  Yay!  I finished quilting and bound this fun rainbow quilt that will be donated to our local girls ranch.  It is bright and cheerful and I hope it will give a young girl some comfort and she transitions in and out of foster care into a forever home.

The blocks came from a bee that my friend Laura is in.  Laura is one of my dearest friends (HI LAURA!) and  we and a couple people near where we live have just started the East Texas Modern Quilt Guild.  As our guild project, we are making quilts for all of the girls who will be in and out of the girls ranch.  These quilts will be for the girls to take with them as they transition out of the ranch and into their forever homes.  So, this is a great use of Laura's bee blocks.  I just trimmed them down, put in the sashing, border, made the back and quilted and bound this one.  This was a fun project to finish.

  1. Hi Meredith! Your finish looks great. (even better in person!) You are right, it is a great use of my bee blocks. I am honored to pass them along to bring comfort to such deserving girls. Thanks for helping out.
